347 Stainless Steel Forging Temperature

Forging should be performed between 2100°F - 2300°F (1149°C - 1260°C), followed by air cooling or rapid quenching in water or oil.

347 Stainless Steel Heat Treatment

347 Stainless Steel Annealing Temperature

Annealing is typically carried out at a temperature range of 1800°F - 2000°F (982°C - 1093°C) for a sufficient period of time, followed by slow cooling in the furnace to relieve stresses and improve ductility.

347 Stainless Steel Normalizing Temperature

Normalizing can be done by heating the steel to a temperature of 1700°F - 1850°F (927°C - 1010°C) and holding it at that temperature for a suitable soak time, followed by air cooling.

Weldability

347 stainless steel exhibits good weldability. It can be welded using common methods such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Proper preheating and post-weld heat treatment are typically recommended to minimize the risk of sensitization and preserve corrosion resistance.
