S275 Forging Temperature

Forging of S275 should be done between 1100°C - 1200°C, followed by slow cooling in a furnace or insulating material.

S275 Heat Treatment

S275 Annealing Temperature

Annealing of S275 is typically performed at 860°C - 890°C for a sufficient amount of time, followed by slow cooling in the furnace to relieve internal stresses.

S275 Normalizing Temperature

Normalizing can be carried out at 900°C - 950°C for a proper soak time, followed by air cooling.

S275 Hardening Temperature

S275 does not require hardening as it is a structural steel primarily used for load-bearing purposes. If high strength is desired, it can be achieved through cold working or heat treatment.

S275 Tempering Temperature

Tempering is not typically required for S275. If desired, it can be performed at temperatures between 550°C - 660°C to improve toughness and reduce brittleness.

Machinability

Weldability
